On Thursday 10th December there was x-mast party of BNV Consulting (company preparing the releasing of employees in Prague public transport) organized by the management. Meeting was held in one of the not so cheap restaurants in the Prague city centre. Few days before the party, an invitation became public known. Part of the invitation card was a comic strip in which BNV Consulting is joking about how much work they have with releasing employees. One of the people in comic strip is sacked employee of Transport Company, who even thanks BNV Consulting for being so “great team”.

Current and released employees appeared to be quite ungrateful men. Instead of praising the “great team”, the invitation card made them upset. BNV Consulting management made a media statement that it is just a fun, everyone should be laughing. But why are the people threatened by releasing not laughing? It is definitely not the lack of sense of humour.

Labour unionists and also anarchists from CSAF Prague quickly called up the people to come and visit the x-mast party. While the Union boss asked for an excuse from management, the anarchists rather pointed out that “representatives of BNV Consulting revealed one of the faces of capitalism – mockery of those privileged to working class people.

There was an excitement on Thursday 10th at one of the Prague main square. More than sixty non-invited guests, transport company unionists and anarchists mainly, came to the party. CSAF leaflets with the comic strip (this time edited in order to show the opposite attitude) were spread. Leaflets then served as a “paper cannon balls” which were being thrown on arriving representatives. But not a lot of them arrived. Question is whether they so much feared voice of street, even so there was three vans of riot cops ready to act. During an hour lasting protest, just ten of the invited came. They were welcomed with invectives, whistling, chanting slogans and banners with clear attitude.

One of the anarchists, already released employee of Transport Company, managed to throw the smoke bomb into the restaurant. We believe celebrating representatives of BNV Consulting were laughing very much, if they like humour so much. The anarchist was immediately arrested.

Unionist boss was little bit unhappy about this act. He asked the boss of BNV Consulting just for an excuse in order to end the protest action. What he received was just another mockery and also was compared to an Islamic fundamentalist.

We hope the employees of (not only) Transport Company will bear anymore neither the way they are treated nor the jokes about their hard luck made by those who hold their fate lordly in hands.

We are pleased about the expression of thanks we received because of our acts of solidarity.

Solidarity among the non-privileged is a commonplace for us and we are ready to express it anytime.
