We call our Western friends to support Russian and Belarusian Anarchist Black Crosses, but also the Operation Solidarity project in Ukraine.

Recent months have been marked by international solidarity with Ukraine. We have been raising donations as well, but we are also trying to support anarchists in Russia and Belarus who are facing permanent repression, especially now for opposing Putin's war. Friends beleaguered by post-Soviet dictatorial regimes are raising donations, primarily for legal defence. Sending money to the East through regular banking services is virtually impossible, yet you can still help.

On March 22, the Anarchist Black Cross (ABC) in the south-Siberian Irkutsk announced the resumption of its activities. "Since the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army, the [Putin‘s] regime has been conducting a particularly harsh crackdown on all those who disagree with militarism and war, introducing military censorship and tightening its grip around the neck of society. We believe that the ABC should actively support people organising against the regime and bring an anarchist agenda to the defence of protesters against the state's onslaught," the published statement said.

In addition, there are two long-standing Black cross collectives: ABC Moscow and ABC Belarus. Given Russia's financial blockade, it is also appropriate to support them through cryptocurrencies.

The Anarchist Federation (AF) has so far raised tens of thousands CZK (about 1000 €) from its already finished public collection for ABC Moscow. Same ammount is being sent to the Ukrainian anarchists through the Operation Solidarity (OpSol) project. AF and its friends also contributed to OpSol through an internal fundraising, which brought in 50,000 CZK (about 2000 €).

Since the beginning of the war, Opsol has been transferring considerable funds from Western and Central European movements to our friends in Ukraine – local anarchists, antifascists, feminists. For us, the most convenient way of donating is provided by ABC Dresden, to which it is possible to contribute by bank transfer or PayPal. But OpSol is also accepting cryptocurrencies.

During the period of the project, ABC Dresden has sent to Ukraine even pro-level and expensive equipment, such as tactical vests and ballistic plates of the highest protective class, helmets, first aid kits, radios, cars and so on. OpSol is fitting out primarily local anarchist units of territorial defence, but also other friendly defenders and, of course, is providing help to civilians and refugees.

There is also a new solidarity project aimed more specifically at supporting anarchist armed platoons: Good Night Imperial Pride (GNIP). It already provided for example plate carriers, tactical belts, mag pouches or a weapon cleaning oil. GNIP can be supported via PayPal. In addition, you can follow the activities of some of the mentioned organizations on Telegram. It is not a secure communication platform, as is often said, but many collectives in Eastern Europe have traditionally run their main information channels there.
